FAQ
What does 'Wentong' mean?
Wentong (温通) combines the Chinese characters for 'warmth' (温, wēn) and 'to open / pass through' (通, tōng). In TCM, 'warming to open the channels' is a core therapeutic principle — using heat to remove blockages in the flow of Qi and blood through meridians.
How is this different from a standard infrared lamp?
The Wentong 1.0 delivers far infrared in the 6–14 micrometer therapeutic range with targeted emission geometry. Standard infrared lamps typically emit a broader spectrum with less control over the far infrared output range.
Is this the same as a sauna?
Both use far infrared, but the Wentong delivers targeted local therapy rather than whole-body immersive heat. They are complementary: the sauna for systemic benefits, the Wentong for specific body areas.
